LKD Aerospace Gains Airline Suppliers Association Quality System Accreditation
ASA-100 Accreditation to FAA AC-0056 Positions LKD For Further
Growth With Enhanced Business
Processes
October 3, 2000 -- LKD Aerospace
announced today its official passing of the final audit of the Airline
Suppliers Association Accreditation Program "ASAAP". Successful
passing of the ASAAP audit establishes a business as an accredited ASA
supplier, meeting the requirements of the FAA's Advisory Circular (AC
00-56). The FAA advisory circular states that parts procured from such
"accredited suppliers" will convey an assurance to the purchaser
that the part(s) is/are the quality stated and that the appropriate
documentation is on file at the distributor's place of business. The FAA
considers that obtaining parts through accredited distributors is a sound
safety practice.
Alan Dance, Vice President and Director of Quality
for LKD Aerospace, stated, "LKD has worked hard to improve our
quality systems to meet the stringent requirements of the ASA-100 quality
system standard. Our business and quality processes now meet or exceed
the industry's highest quality requirements." Dance estimates that
only about 5% of existing distribution companies have become AC 00-56 accredited.
Michele Schweitzer, President of ASA, added, "We
congratulate LKD Aerospace on successfully passing the ASA Accreditation
program. The growing industry adoption of this quality accreditation
program represents companies that meet the highest quality standards
throughout the industry. More than 170 companies have now successfully
passed accreditation requirements under FAA AC 00-56."
Mark Chamberlain, President and CEO of LKD, added,
"Meeting the quality accreditation of FAA AC 00-56 was a key goal for our
business this year. LKD is striving to be a top supplier to the industry
throughout the world by offering the best products, service, quality and
price via use of our state-of-the-art information services over the
